Outpatient Services

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Via Linda Behavioral Hospital: Why Choose Us?

IOP mental health services at Via Linda offer a structured approach to common but severe mental health issues. Treatment goes beyond therapy. You also have access to helpful services and support for a truly individualized experience.

Highlights of our program include:

  • Connected care: Therapists, nurse practitioners and psychiatrists work together to tailor the services you need. Their collaborative approach helps you receive well-rounded care supporting your mental and emotional well-being. With guidance from many providers, it’s easier to focus on healing.
  • Flexibility: Our IOP mental health programs run in the morning, giving you the rest of the day for work, school and family. You can choose which days you attend. If coming to our facility isn’t an option, our telehealth sessions let you meet with your therapist virtually.
  • Support beyond therapy: Your mental health is one of the many ways we help you. By connecting you with community resources, we provide you with the additional support you need to navigate daily life after treatment.
  • Thoughtful send-off: Finishing a day of treatment can be emotional. We want you to leave feeling valued and supported. Our team takes a moment to thank you for coming, offer encouragement and wish you well. If you use a ride service, we walk you to the vehicle to help you feel comfortable and get where you need to go.

IOP Mental Health Services: What to Expect

Our IOP provides structured mental health support that’s easier to fit into your busy life. Groups meet Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. You can expect to attend three days a week.

Here’s more of what to expect:

  • Intake: A mental health provider talks with you to understand your needs and assess whether IOP is right for you.
  • Treatment: Each day begins with a check-in to see how you’re feeling, followed by therapy sessions. We help you practice new skills, manage challenges and build healthier habits.
  • Regular check-ins: You meet with a nurse practitioner and psychiatrist to review medications and discuss treatment progress.
  • Discharge planning: We help you plan the next steps after your time with us, which helps your recovery stay on track.

Our Outpatient Mental Health Groups

With IOPs addressing different needs, you get support that’s right for you. Our offerings include:

If anxiety, depression or trauma affect your daily life, this program is for you. We provide support and teach practical strategies to help you manage your thoughts and feelings so you feel more in control.

Dual Diagnosis Group

This group helps you understand addiction as a disease and how to live with it. We teach you how to reconnect with loved ones, ask for and offer forgiveness, and build a strong foundation for sobriety.

Empowerment group for people with severe mental illness (SMI)

Living well with severe mental illness isn’t just about managing symptoms. It’s about feeling empowered in your daily life. In addition to therapy, we teach you how to manage relationships and routines that support your well-being.

Adolescent mental health program (ages 12-17)

We help adolescents talk, connect and work through the challenges of growing up. Therapists understand teens’ concerns and engage with them in a way that encourages openness, making it easier to navigate their emotions. We also offer family sessions.
