Military and First Responder Mental Health Services: Why Choose Us?

We are a TRICARE®-approved program offering inpatient mental health care for active-duty service members and veterans. We also care for first responders and border patrol agents. Staff take the time to learn your story and listen to your goals. You get personalized treatment that makes it easier to move forward.

Highlights of the Patriot Support Program include:

  • Insightful care: Many staff have served in the military or have loved ones who have served. We understand the culture, pressures and challenges you’re facing. This shared experience means you won’t have to explain every detail. It enables us to deliver services that respect your background, priorities and the realities of your life.
  • Individualized treatments: In addition to daily group sessions, you have individual therapy three times a week when on the Patriot Support Unit and for those enrolled in 28-day program. This approach helps you process past experiences, gain coping skills and move forward in a way that’s right for you.
  • Warm, friendly environment: Staff foster a sense of community, making it easier to open up and connect with fellow participants. At Via Linda, you’re not alone, and heartfelt support is within reach.
  • High patient satisfaction: Military, veterans and first responders make meaningful progress during their stay. According to surveys, they consistently feel better at discharge than when they arrived. These positive experiences help our program surpass national averages for recovery and satisfaction. Respectful Evaluations and Admissions Process

A prompt, confidential evaluation helps us assess whether Via Linda is the right fit for your needs. You enter our facility through a private entrance, giving you a discreet space to get settled. From the moment you arrive, we prioritize your privacy to help you feel more comfortable. Call us at 480-476-7210, or if you’re looking for our outpatient level of care, you can schedule an outpatient assessment online.

Personalized Mental Health Care for Service Members and First Responders

The Patriot Support Program is designed for people who were deployed or are dealing with combat trauma or other mental health challenges. Each person comes to us with their own story, needs and preferences. We use this information to tailor your care so you get the right support and approach for your recovery.

Psychiatrists, nurses, therapists and social workers work together to personalize your experience. We meet regularly to assess how treatment is going and make adjustments as needed. By listening to you and collaborating with each other, we help you receive timely and responsive care.

Staff Specially Trained to Assist Military and First Responders

Our team members have specialized training and experience in the mental health needs of active-duty service members, veterans and first responders. They’re easy to reach, ready to talk and focused on making treatment go as smoothly as possible. This is one of the many ways we help you feel genuinely cared for.

Military therapist

This therapist has firsthand knowledge of military life, including its daily demands and challenges. They visit military bases, observe operations and engage with Command to better understand where you’re coming from. They also collaborate with veteran services and military healthcare systems to deliver treatment that aligns with military protocols.

Program manager

The program manager coordinates support and resources before, during and after your stay. As a veteran, they understand the unique challenges service members face. Their hands-on approach means you have someone advocating for you throughout treatment and your transition back to duty or civilian life.

The program manager regularly communicates with Command, providing required updates on treatment progress. They also oversee that your services align with military guidelines.

Mental Health for Military Service Members and First Responders: What to Expect

  • Special visitation arrangements: You can spend time with loved ones outside of our standard visiting hours.
  • Town hall meetings: During these meetings, you can provide staff with feedback about your experience and suggest improvements.
  • Collaboration with community resources: If you need help with housing, service animals or financial support, we work with trusted organizations that can assist you.

Additional services available to people staying at Via Linda for a few weeks include:

  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy: EMDR helps you process unpleasant memories in a healthier way. It’s an optional treatment that’s not widely available.
